The radio you described is a mid 1990s 2 meter/70cm ham radio RTTY and PSK 31 are more of a HF modes than VHF modes. There are mods on the internet in how to interface a TNC (terminal node controller) into the radio, but on VHF/UHF you will find more people doing packet radio or the newest thing of APRS (basically tracking and SMS by ham radio) You won’t be able to control it by computer.
